She opened her own millinery business on 53rd Street ,NYC in 1934 which grew to become one of the largest hat companies in the USA. In the early 1950s Victors Airwaves hat, which resembled a cut out pie crust, was popularized when Mamie Eisenhower wore one to the Presidential inauguration.
